The Tomah VA Medical Center is hiring for a Physician Assistant (PA) to work in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP). Primary duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
· The PA is a prescriber for veterans, including medication management and clinical management of veterans.
· The PA will be supported by medical physicians, psychiatrists, and other NP/PAs.
· The PA may be asked to respond to consults initiated from medicine inpatient units and other CLCs in this facility.
· There will be authorization with supervising psychiatrist/psychiatrist on inpatient psych unit regarding all admissions and discharges.
· There will be telephone contact with supervising psychiatrist/psychiatrist regarding complex and/or high risk acute psychiatric patients.
· The PA will provide intake, assessment, and treatment services for the RRTP.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Physical Requirements: The work requires standing or walking for a major portion of the work day. The walking will often require carrying supplies or pushing carts and equipment when in surgery. In the clinics you may need to assist patients into the examinations rooms when in wheel chairs or on carts, which could consist of a variety of standing, walking, twisting, turning, sitting, bending, pushing, carrying and light lifting. This may be considered demanding physical activity.
