About the Position: The brand new IACH, a $347M facility, opened in October 2016. Now a 47-bed facility, IACH is working to expand services with a total of 6 OR's and 2 Endoscopy Rooms. Additionally, IACH will add Sleep Lab services in the near future, and an in-patient behavioral health unit. This position is located at Inpatient Nursing Services, Med/Surg Ward.
May be required to be on call to cover staffing shortages due to mission requirements, staff illness, or increased patient acuities.
This position is intermittent and does not provide guaranteed work hours each week, and work will be assigned on an intermittent "as needed basis." Intermittent employees are NOT eligible for benefits (Life Insurance) (Annual and Sick Leave). Under the Affordable Care Act intermittent employees who are expected to work 130 hours per month or more for at least 90 days will be eligible to enroll in an FEBH plan.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience with a wide variety of professional nursing concepts, principles and practices to provide care to critically ill patients; operate specialized medical equipment (hemodynamic monitoring devices, EKG's, dopplers, bladder scanners, etc.) and administer potentially lethal drugs or other work typically in or related to the position being filled. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
