The Department of Geriatrics and Extended Care at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, is seeking to hire a qualified Geriatrician for the Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit and Community Living Center (Nursing Home).
The Geriatric and Extended Care service line is responsible for the care of the veterans in a broad based geriatric program, in collaboration with Primary Care, Mental Health and Home Based Primary Care.
The Bedford VA is affiliated with Boston University School of Medicine and serves as a geriatric training site for the geriatric fellows, family practice residents, psychiatry interns as well as Lahey Clinic Medical Center internal medicine residents.
The Geriatrician is expected to participate in the training and educational activities at the department. Academic appointments and research opportunities will be available to qualified applicants.
The Bedford VA is located 15 miles outside of Boston and is home to veterans in the largest Community living Center in the VA. Specialized programs include units for Hospice, Gero Psychiatry and advanced dementia. There are several research centers including Geriatric Research and Evaluation Clinical Center (GRECC) Health Services Center of Innovation and Mental Illness Research Evaluation Clinical Center (MIRECC).

This position is located in the Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) Service of Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial (ENRM) VA Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts. The GEC service line is responsible for the care of the Veterans in a broad based geriatric program, in collaboration with Primary Care, Mental Health, and Home Based Primary Care (HBPC). The incumbent will function as a Physician (Geriatrician) for the Community Living Center and Geriatric Evaluation Management Unit whose key functions will be providing medical diagnoses, work ups and treatments within the scope of knowledge, privileges and patient needs. The duties of the position include but are not limited to:
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm
