Job Summary:
Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager. Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests. Responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility. Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies. Adheres to Customer Service standards of the Installation.
Possible Bonus may be offered at the end of the season.

-Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools.
-Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from any hazards.
-Assists in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to TC 21-21 or assisting with American Red Cross swim lessons as an Aide.
-Maintains daily logs, reports and records as required.
-Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
-Rescues pool patrons and administers first aid as required.
-Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules, and follows facility Standard Operating Procedures for disciplinary actions.
Conditions of Employment:
1. A one-year probationary period may be required.
2. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.
3. A completed and signed copy DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
4. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-VERIFY) check.
5. All required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI) is required.
6. Good vision is required (corrected vision if necessary).
7. May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
8. Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty
9. A physical is required.
10. Must participate in all required trainings, rescue drills, and simulations.

Possesses and maintains the following certifications:
Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS); American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid.
