Facility hours are Monday- Friday, 0530-1800. You may be scheduled to work anytime between the opening hours of the facility to include weekends and/or holidays. CYS facilities hours are subject to change during school out days, school vacations, special openings (Parents Night/Day out); field trips, special events and for staff development/meetings. Major Duties:
Serves as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in the Child and Youth Services program. Helps to ensure program meets DOD and NAEYC standards and requirements while providing care, supervision, oversight and accountability of children at all times. Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedule. Interacts with children using approved child guidance techniques. Practice risk management controls implementing key policies and procedures to minimize the risk of child abuse. Maintains a commitment to professionalism including positive, respectful and cooperative relationship with co-workers, supervisors, children and families. Meets all required installation training and requirements. Completes designated training requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Information on Entry, Skill, and Target Levels.

Minimum Qualifications:
Entry Level Candidate must:
Be 18 years of age and high school diploma or GED Certificate.(Note: You MUST submit a copy of high school diploma or GED) Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal) Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis.
Skill Level Candidate must:
Meet Entry-level requirements. Possess (3) months experience working in a group program with children. Completion of Army Entry Level Training Certificate (Air/Force/Navy equivalent). (Note: You MUST attach copies of your certifications to be eligible for this position.)
OR
One year of education above high school level which included nine (9) semester hours of college credit in early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human development, youth program administration, recreation or related behavioral sciences, or one (1) year vocational certificate in child care. (Note: You MUST attach copies of your transcripts and/or certifications to be eligible for this position.)
Target Level Candidate must:
Meet Entry and Skill level requirements. Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth. Completion of Army Foundation Level Training (Air Force/Navy equivalent). (Note: You MUST attach copies of your certifications to be eligible for this position.)
OR
Meet Entry and Skill level requirements. Two (2) years of education above the High School Level, which includes twelve (12) semester hours of college credits addressed above. (Note: You MUST attach copies of your certifications to be eligible for this position.)
You must upload a copy of your High School diploma or GED in order to qualify for this position. Those missing this information will not be considered. College transcripts are required if you are seeking a Skill or Target level position.
