Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Coordinates care for ambulatory clinic patients. Assists the Care Provider in selected procedures and performs diagnostic testing, i.e. EKG, phlebotomy, wound care to patients and provides direct care to patients in emergencies
2. Functions as a leader of the nursing care team when assigned, directing and guiding the LVNs and other nursing staff
3. Assesses patient's needs and conditions and recommends appropriate dispositions based on assessment
4. Initiates appropriate nursing interventions and communication with other team members
5. Provides patient education on an individual or group basis
6. Participates actively in the Performance Improvement activities of Ambulatory Care, and in development of policies and procedures
7. Assures detailed, current and comprehensive documentation is contained in the patient medical record and other pertinent records
8. Participates and supports research projects directed toward improving patient care and staff development
9. Provides a safe and healthful physical environment for patients and personnel by interpreting and applying organizational goals and national standards

Physical Requirements:
This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, kneeling, pulling, and pushing. Transferring patients and objects may be required. The candidate may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures. The candidate may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs. The candidate will be working closely with others and may have protracted or irregular hours of work.

He/she functions as a member of the Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT) and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinic.
