Major Duties:
-Assists in providing and leading planned activities for program participants.
-Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques.
-Supervises children during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events.
-Helps arrange for/serve appropriate snacks/meals.
-Ensures children and youth (as applicable) depart with authorized person according to written parental instruction.
-Assists in maintaining program participation data and completing required daily reports.

Conditions of Employment:

Age Requirement:
-Age is 18 years or older (MUST be 18 years of age or older by estimated appointment date of 15 Dec 16.)
Physical Requirements:
-Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
To meet ENTRY LEVEL Requirements candidate must:
-Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate. (Diploma or GED Certificate MUST be uploaded at the time of application)
-Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
To meet SKILL LEVEL Requirements candidate must:
-Meet Entry level requirements list above
-Demonstrated satisfactory performance
-One year of education above high school level which included nine (9) semester hours of college credit in early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human development, youth program administration, recreation or related behavioral sciences. (Transcripts MUST be uploaded at the time of application).
OR
-Meet Entry level requirements list above
-Demonstrated satisfactory performance
-One (1) year vocational certificate in childcare (Certificates MUST be uploaded at the time of application).
To meet TARGET LEVEL Requirements candidate must:
-Meet all Entry and Skill level requirements listed above
-Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
-Completion of Army Foundation Level Training Certificate (Air Force/Navy equivalent). (Certificates MUST be uploaded at the time of application)
OR
-Meet all Entry and Skill level requirements listed above
-Two (2) years of education above the High School level, which includes twelve (12)- semester hours of college credit in early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human development, youth program administration which includes twelve (12)- semester hours of college credit in early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human development, youth program administration. (Transcripts MUST be uploaded at the time of application).
