The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System located in N. Las Vegas, NV is accepting applications for a full-time board eligible or board certified physician in Thoracic Surgery who will be part of a team delivering quality care in the Surgical Service at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System. The staff Thoracic Surgeon will provide direct patient care in the OR, ICU, inpatient wards and outpatient clinic settings and related areas, all related to the practice of general thoracic surgery. Additional clinical responsibilities include scheduled on-call coverage during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Training and experience in vascular and endovascular surgery, and ability to provide those services in the hospital setting is a plus.
Physical Requirements: The work requires some physical exertion including periods of walking, standing, regular and recurring bending, stooping, lifting heavy objects such as assisting patients on and off examination tables.
