As an Urgent Care Physician, you will provide emergent medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured veterans. Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes; ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, determining need for hospitalization at this facility or transferring the patient to another facility. Must complete clinical reminders and meet performance measures, as applicable. Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.
Must be board certified or eligible in internal medicine or other specialty that meets the needs of the VA Health Care System for this position.
Tour of Duty: Rotational Tour, including day, evening, and nights, as needed.
Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.

Licensure and Registration: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. The facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the physician is to serve in a country other than the United States and the physician has licensure in that country.
Board Certification: Board certified or Board eligible in Internal Medicine or a specialty area based on the needs of the VA Health Care System.
Physical Standards: Applicant must meet the physical requirements of the position. Tentatively selected applicant is subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants that refuse to be tested will be denied employment with the VA. (VA Directive and Handbook 5019).
