The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position: A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resources Office.
Performs and directs the activities of the Military Information Support Operations mission (MISO) and the Special Operations Forces Mobility mission, Electronic Warfare Officer (WSO) functions. Develops plans, policies and procedures and analyzes national defense guidance and objectives to create operational policies. Selects, interprets and analyzes appropriate situation displays and information to monitor Area of Responsibility/Interest (AOR/AOI) and elements affecting the AOR/AOI. Performs joint/combined/composite operations as required. Provides oversight for all communication links including UHV/VHF/HF/FM radios, Ku band Spread Spectrum (KuSS) receiver, Integrated Broadcast System (IBS), Link-16 and SATCOM. Performs as Instructor/Evaluator and Standardization Flight examiner for the Mission Crew Commander (MCC) and Combat Systems Officer (CSO) crew positions. Performs mission air crew duties as a Mission Crew Commander (MCC) or flight deck air crew duties as a Combat Systems Officer (CSO) in a high threat combat and training environment. Plans, develops, and monitors flight and ground test programs for aircraft mission systems. Serves as the Mission Commander(MC), Operations Officer (Ops O), or Liaison Officer (LNO) /Deployment Project Officer for unit deployments involving up to four aircraft and 120 members or as LNO for joint and allied headquarters staffs for improving operations. Performs administrative supervisory personnel management duties and responsibilities in unit command positions or as a supervisor over staff operations functions as directed by the Wing Commander and Operations Group Commander. Serves as the Air Commander's representative when performing duties as: Air Operations Supervisor (SUP), Supervisor of Flying (SOF), Drop/Landing Zone Control and Safety Officer or Stand-by Duty Officer (SDO); and is responsible for the safe and efficient mission accomplishment of the unit through the use of an Operational Risk Management (ORM) program. Performs required mission planning and staff operations work in scheduling, training, current operations, standards and evaluation, intelligence, weapons and tactics, chief of staff, combat readiness and exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must indicate 36 months experience performing and directing the activities of the Military Information Support Operations mission (MISO) and the Special Operations Forces Mobility mission, Electronic Warfare Officer (WSO) functions. Experience in planning, organizing direct operations including information operations warfare, psychological operations, command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), electronic attack, and other applications within the spectrum of electronic warfare. Must be a Certified Instructor (Must provide instructor certification).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES: Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominating supervisor based on the following competencies considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
-Knowledge of the range of administrative laws, policies, regulations and precedents applicable to the administration and effective command of the Information Operations and electronic warfare missions and the relationships this mission has with other programs and functions in other agencies and working in a joint operational command.
-Knowledge of Weapon Systems Officer, concepts, principles and activities and be instructor qualified as a MCC and CSO.
-Knowledge of airborne electronic warfare and broadcast platforms, air threat analysis, allocation, distribution, and positioning of air weapons systems, electronic attack, RF broadcast, Information Operations, tactics and techniques, operating procedures and relationship among air, ground, and naval forces.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy these positions as a Promotion NTE or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status. Employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who is not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments do not acquire permanent status and do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice.
SPECIAL NOTE: Per the Labor Relations Management Agreement if there are more than 15 qualified applicants for each position, by category, a KSA board will be convened in accordance with Section 17.8 of the LMRA.
