THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: performing hardware and software analysis, and writing software in an environment that requires a good working knowledge of the syntax, capabilities, and limitations of a programming language, as well as working knowledge of and experience with the operating system under which the software operates, documenting science requirements and translating those requirements into a design for scientific data acquisition, analysis and visualization systems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Sector performing the following duties: 1) Writes Reasearch and Development (R&D) proposals specif1cations, work statements. memoranda, letters, reports and other written discussions; 2) Utilizes programming languages/environment such as C++, Java, XML, grXML, Grammar Specification Language (GSL), Augmented Backus-Naur Form (ABNF), Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other Graphical User Interface (GUI) development environments; 3) Interprets user needs to gain insight of the overall requirements for training related computer hardware/software systems.
