CBO is looking for a leader to manage a highly skilled staff of 12 analysts, help the analysts develop professionally, and encourage internal and external collaboration. Analysts in the unit communicate regularly with and provide assistance to Congressional committees that have jurisdiction over the relevant programs. The unit chief is responsible for ensuring high-quality, nonpartisan analysis, often under tight deadlines. Key responsibilities include reviewing a substantial volume of formal cost estimates and coordinating the preparation of 10-year baseline spending projections and annual analyses of the President's budgetary proposals.

Candidates must have an advanced degree in public policy, public administration, economics, or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience (or a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience).
