Duties
- Provides expert advice on matters concerning fraud, waste, and abuse DoD-wide, and the investigation thereof, to include the development and implementation of law-enforcement policies, procedures, and objectives for the overall DCIS program.
- Manages and coordinates criminal investigative matters among Field Offices (FOs), ensure that suspected criminal activities are identified and brought to the attention of the appropriate prosecution entities.
- Develops, plans, and ensures that procedures for criminal investigations, which cut across service lines, involve other government agencies or OIG components, are effectively implemented.
- Ensures investigative techniques and law enforcement procedures, including IG subpoenas, polygraphs, monitoring, Title III operations, and undercover operations among others, are being conducted appropriately and effectively.
- Directs the preparation of proposed changes to policy and procedures involving programs managed by Investigative Operations; develops new policies and directives as required.
- Supervises the review of investigative activity reports and identifies management and/or operational problem areas when there is a need to modify or change policy or procedure.
- The incumbent provides executive direction to the Investigative Operations staff and evaluates their respective performance in conducting and oversight of department wide investigative operations.
- Initiates and maintains continuing liaison, as deemed appropriate, to assure investigative continuity on matters that would affect the DCIS mission or provide assistance to others.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations.
- Complies with requirements of The Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, 5 U.S.C.4 (2000).

7. Certificate showing completion of Criminal Investigator Training Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia. If you no longer have your Certificate, we will accept your transcript if it indicates passage. We will also accept Certificates from other Federal equivalent criminal investigator training programs, such as the FBI Special Agent training program or Military Criminal Investigative Organization equivalent. Tribal, State, and local law enforcement academy training does not meet this requirement.
