This Information Technology (IT) Specialist position is located in the Capabilities, Data, and Integration (CDI), Threat Hunting (TH), Cybersecurity Division (CSD), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
As a IT Specialist you will serve as the Deputy Section Chief and your typical work assignments may include:
Exercises a full range of personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of subordinate staff.
Coordinates and evaluates subordinates' work to assure balanced workload and timely responses to assigned actions.
Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Develops job descriptions and assigns work to subordinates based on priorities. Determines selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Hears and resolves complaints from assigned personnel and refers unresolved matters to higher authority.
Establishes performance standards, evaluates performance, recommends training and development, and recognizes high quality performance.
Makes functional assignments establishing controls necessary for effective management, or to provide data for management purposes.
Promotes compliance and ensures that all personnel actions are taken in accordance with the Federal government's personnel laws and regulations and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program policies.
Directly manages IT programs/projects applying technical knowledge of various specialized areas of applications development, engineering, network operations and maintenance functions, and conceives, plans, and conducts studies involving complex issues and unique problems.
Perform needs analysis to determine opportunities for new and improved business process solutions.
Participates in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies, and often develops new policies, procedures, and approaches taking into consideration CISA policies, government-wide rules, regulations, and industry standards.
Act as a primary stakeholder in the underlying information technology (IT) operational
processes and functions that support the service, provide direction and monitor all significant activities so
the service is delivered successfully.
Provides technical analysis to senior leaders that can impact organizational vision and direction, and prepares, reviews and may approve organizational reports or policies for internal and external distribution.
Consults with customers to evaluate functional requirements and translate functional requirements into
technical solutions: conduct risk analysis, feasibility study, and/or trade-off analysis to develop, document,
and refine functional requirements and specifications; consult with customers to evaluate functional requirements.
Coordinate with DevOps, as needed, to provide oversight in the development of design solutions; define project scope and objectives based on customer requirements; develop and document requirements, capabilities, and constraints for design procedures and processes;
Performs other duties as assigned.
