This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Office of Counsel to the Inspector General (OCIG). This office provides legal counsel to the OIG with respect to OIG audits, evaluations and investigations. OCIG is also responsible for the provision of guidance to the health care industry on the operation and scope of fraud, waste and abuse laws through the issuance of advisory opinions, safe harbor regulations and fraud alerts.

Recruitment Incentives: Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses may be authorized subject to funds availability and the agency's determination that it would be in the best interest of the Government to authorize such payments as allowed by regulation. If relocation expenses are paid, you will be required to sign a one-year service agreement. Failure to fulfill the service agreement may require repayment of relocation expense allowances. A relocation incentive is not authorized. Repayment of student loans may be offered.
Security and Background Requirements: This position requires a Top Secret clearance. A background security investigation will be required for all appointees. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements may be grounds for appropriate personnel action. In addition, if hired, a background security reinvestigation or supplemental investigation may be required at a later time.
