The Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, U.S. Department of the Treasury, is seekingVideo and Marketing Internsfor Summer 2023, with potential extension through Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. Interns will be supervised by product teams at OCDO and will present their work for feedback at least once every two weeks. Please note that the internship is unpaid. This opportunity is open to U.S. Citizens or U.S. Nationals who are Students enrolled on at least a half-time basis, or accepted for enrollment, and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution; meet any applicable personnel suitability and/or background/investigative requirements; remain in good academic standing; and be at least 18 years of age. This is an unpaid student internship.
Video and marketing interns will be primarily responsible for working with an interdisciplinary team (of product managers, designers, and marketers) to develop educational and promotional videos for public-facing websites operated by the Data Transparency division of OCDO: USAspending.gov and FiscalData.Treasury.gov. USAspending.gov in particular has recently launched a YouTube channel and is looking to develop and launch new content: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyDn83O-0XC98H3TCV-VCGQ/.
Secondary responsibilities will be to assist with the creation of any graphics or copy for product marketing initiatives.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time at an accredited academic institution.
- Must maintain status as a current student in good standings during your internship.
- Must provide proof of education (transcripts) prior to the job offer; An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
Key Requirements:
We welcome candidates who have prior experience in creating videos, or who have a desire to learn how to create such videos. The ideal candidate has experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects, and Animator, as well as some familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs).
