As a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST, you will:
- Serve as the principal point of contact for disseminating authoritative information about L and its programs and provide communication coordination for major national initiatives.
- Manage the planning and development of full-spectrum internal and external communications activities in support of L programs, policies and activities at the local, national and international level.
- Monitor and evaluates effectiveness of media and public communication program activities, adjusting priorities as needed to reach established goals, and making recommendations to L leadership for organizational improvements.
- Conduct detailed analysis of L policies and programs and develop communication plans to support their successful execution.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Developing and implementing an organization's communications and media relations or public affairs programs, policies, and operations; AND
- Designing and developing communication plans and informational materials for the promotion of an organization to a wide range of audiences; AND
- Developing and coordinating organizational level communication in response to inquiries from members of the public and the media.
