This position is located at the 162d WG in Tucson, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to certify acceptable performance, test, repair, trouble-shoot, operationally check and modify aircraft turbine and auxiliary power units, and associated propulsion system components.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
Military Grades: AB/E1 - SSgt/E5
Compatible Military Assignments: Possess the AFSC of 2A6XX
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
WG-05: Must possess at least 6 months experience using common hand tools in making repetitive mechanical repairs under close supervision. Experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the simpler and routine duties of the trade.
WG-08: Must possess at least 12 months experience or training removing and installing components and accessories with detailed guidance. Experience in following detailed instructions in making minor repairs and modifications to aircraft engines, subassemblies and components.
WG-10: Must possess at least 18 months experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.

1. Knowledge in installing, removing, operating, and repairing a variety of conventional and modified aircraft engines and engine accessories systems on and off the aircraft.
2. Knowledge and understanding of jet engine theory and the integration of the jet engine with all aircraft systems to troubleshoot malfunctions and accomplish repairs.
3. Knowledge and skill to operate a variety of test equipment, such as vibration analyzers, air data simulators, engine monitoring computer, data transfer equipment, dynamic propeller balancing equipment, high pressure hydraulic test equipment, voltmeters and other precision measurement equipment to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair aircraft engines on and off the aircraft.
4. Skill and ability to interpret technical orders, manufacturer's catalogs, blueprints and schematic drawings, to obtain the technical information required to troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, assemble and trim engines.
5. Knowledgeable in understanding and applying technical order data, principles and practices to verify that essential quality requirements have been met, identify problem areas and recommend corrective action.
