As a AUDITOR-TITLE 5, GS-0511-7/9/11, you will recommend solutions of accounting and operational problems utilizing professional accounting and auditing knowledge. Implement regulations, procedures and analyses of automated systems. Perform complex accounting and review activities involving in the analysis of accounting records. Develop position papers and fact sheets that interpret reports and accounting data. Review automated accounting and financial systems and identify the need for changes to enhance system capabilities. Perform a variety of internal review assignments that require ingenuity in applying conventional and advanced techniques in gathering and evaluating pertinent data. Utilize professional accounting and audit skills to maintain oversight for implementing appropriate laws, directives, and regulations of internal control programs and procedures. Study and research background material to gain program information and discover leads. Conduct in-briefs with management officials. Perform survey work to identify potential operating problems. Document results in accordance with Comptroller General Standards, DoD, Army, Air Force, and Army and Air National Guard policies. Prepare working papers and files in accordance with Comptroller General Standards and Army and Air National Guard policies. Perform follow-up on findings and recommendations. Report the status of corrective actions taken by functional activities to the USPFO. Evaluates validity of findings and recommendations identified by external audit agencies. Prepare overall command response to external audit agency reports based on input from proponent activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Financial Management Level 2 Certification: Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all DoD and DoA requirements of this certification program as a condition of employment for this position. Employees must obtain the appropriate certification levels for their positions within 24 months after initial assignment; and, employees must maintain the positions' continuous training and education studies, as identified for each certification level, during the defined 24 month period.
Must complete the requisite quantity of CETs every two years to sustain the achieved certification level
Incumbent will be appointed at the GS-07 or GS-09 level depending on qualifications. This position is developmental: Incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher grade upon completion of an Individual Development Plan (IDP), meeting time in grade requirements, and be recommended for promotion by supervisor.
NOTE: A retired member of the Armed Forces may not be appointed to a DOD civilian position within 180 days after retirement, without a TAG approved waiver, in accordance with DoDi 1402.01, Employment of Retired Members of the Armed Forces, dated 09 Sep 2007 and National Guard Appointment for Retired Members of the Armed Forces Memo, dated 18 Jan 2019.

a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included - or - as supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to six hours of credit in business law.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or higher.
