This position is located in the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), Office of Inspector General (OIG). EXIM is an independent executive agency and a wholly-owned government corporation. The Assistant Inspector General for Audits is responsible for assignments on matters of special concern to the Agency in the policy direction and coordination of audits and investigations related to its programs and operations. These assignments are usually broad-based, touching upon wide program areas or activities within the Agency. Reviews existing and proposed legislation and regulations relating to programs and operations of EXIM and makes recommendations in the semiannual reports required by Section 5(a) of the IG Act concerning the impact of such legislation or regulations on the economy and efficiency in the administration of programs and operations administered or financed by the Agency or the prevention and detection of fraud and abuse in such programs and operations. Responsible for ensuring that these policies, procedures, and regulations are consistent with the intent of laws, and are administratively sound, efficient, and economical in operation.
At the full performance level, duties include, but are not limited to:
Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. A former or recent political appointee is someone who held a political appointment covered by OPM's policy within the previous 5-year period. OPM's oversight in this area safeguards merit system principles as well as fair and open competition free from political influence.
