As an Auditor, you will:
1) Conduct performance and financial audits.
2) Perform systematic examinations and appraisals of financial related records, reports, and policies for DOE and other entities.
3) Prepare work papers/reports to document the audit process, deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
4) Assist higher level auditors in determining area of high risk to focus on during the audit.
5) Recommends improving the adequacy and condition of financial records in closeout conferences to managers of audited organizations.
6) Performs and coordinates audits of an extensive range of Department of Energy and non-Department of Energy activities.
Basic Requirements:
Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration, or accounting;

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. For the GS-07 level: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates a basic knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, concepts, and techniques.

Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA).
Superior Academic Achievement is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.1. Class standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, based on completed courses.2. For the GS-12 level: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates experience in accounting and auditing to review Federal and contractor operations and accounting and control systems to access the amount and appropriateness of costs and compliance with Government procurement regulations.
