ALL US CITIZENS. DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (COVID-19 - VA 005) in-accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3304(a)(3) and 5 CFR 337.205(b)(1)-(4).
Duties Include:
-Acts as the principal pay fund control monitor for the Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) program payrolls.
-Distinguishes the difference between account codes, line items, and types of transactions, such as obligations vs. expenditures, allotments vs. transfers of funds, etc.
-Adjusts account balances to reflect gains and losses to accounts.
-Audits and resolves cases involving overpayment or underpayment.
-Verifies the accuracy of authorizing documents, reconstructs the payment history for the period involved, determines the amount of any under or overpayment, and the procedure for disbursing underpayments or collection of overpayments.
-Makes computer comparisons of funds disbursement and estimates funds needed for future payrolls.
-Using automated accounting and budget systems; reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, ensuring validity of data.
-Reviews vocational contracts to ensure all required information is contained.
-Maintains financial spreadsheets essential to track, monitor, and trend economic data vital to maintaining fiscal solvency of the CWT program.
-Reviews, investigates and adhering to privacy processes, responds with appropriate action to all inquiries concerning the follow-up of billing and debt collections related to the CWT program.
-Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes computerized data sets, and accurately retrieves computerized data necessary to plan, review and report data/statistical results of the program.
-Performs work in the gathering, examination, and tracking of data and statistical information in support of the program's performance improvement objectives.
-Develops methods for automating procedures and reports.
-Designs data collection/analysis forms, as needed in accordance with program and Tomah VA Medical Center standards.
-Extracts, compiles, verifies, and summarizes budgetary information in related forms and documents furnished by VHA Vocational Rehabilitation staff in connection with the budge process.
-Maintains automated system of, program specific data to track suspense's on items such as project milestones, progress reports, and funding accomplishments.
-Compiles annual program reports and data required for submission to the VHA Vocational Rehabilitation Central Office as well as for FEPEC data monitoring sheets.
-Updates daily attendance, patient rosters, and other mandated weekly and monthly reports/forms.
-Generates patient databases to track patient flow and outcome initiatives for the VHA Vocational Rehabilitation program.
-Provides clerical support to the clinical staff of the VHA Vocational Rehabilitation, Mental Health Case Management, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center Programs.
-Supports the day to day operations, which include scheduling and coordinating appointments using clinic access principles, collects and updates demographic information.
-Provides general clerical services for training, compliance reporting, quality assurance and budgeting within the Vocational Rehabilitation, Mental Health Case Management, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center Programs.
-Serves as timekeeper and acts as backup for other mental health units.
-Reviews and substantiates the validity of requests for equipment and supplies for the CWT program, through the purchase card program.
-Performs other related duties as assigned
