The Assistant Director, National Risk Management Center serves as a senior CISA official and works closely with the Director and Deputy Director for CISA, to provide coordinated risk management efforts, analyses, and key services for sustaining the Nation's cyber and physical assets. In this role, the Assistant Director, NRMC will serve as the senior expert to support CISA cyber security and critical infrastructure asset identification, assessment, and prioritization efforts in coordination with other agencies and the private sector, including any cross sector specific activities to address known threats.
Specific responsibilities include:
Provide executive direction and leadership strategies to provide analytical and technical support for CISA and critical infrastructure partners, informing risk management decisions to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from a threat or incident.
Resolve any existing gaps in critical infrastructure integration and analysis and will collaborate with senior executives of DHS, CISA and other federal agencies for information sharing.
Provides oversight on the provision of analytical support for CISA and critical infrastructure partners, informing risk management decisions to better prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from a threat or incident.
Works closely with the Director and Deputy Director of CISA to promote a coordinated approach to managing cross-sector, systemic cybersecurity risks across government and industry partners to combat threats.
Serves as the CISA Principal Executive identifying opportunities for collaboration of risk management activities across the directorate, DHS and with other federal agencies, specifically leading short-term initiatives based on the known cyber threats to critical infrastructure.
Leads the effort to identify, assess, and prioritize risk to national critical functions, considering the full spectrum of cross sector risk registries and dependency analysis.
Implements the President's Management Agenda as outlined in the Presidential Policy Directive/PPD-21 on Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience.
Fosters a robust model and simulation capability that demonstrates the potential consequences and impacts to national critical functions.
Defines objectives and makes decisions that impact cost, supportability, and performance of the operations, systems, policies, and personnel for NRMC.
Directs program evaluations and reviews program activities to ensure policy compliance and agreement with Administration and Department goals and objectives.

As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence of progressively responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under Executive Core Qualifications and Mandatory Technical Qualifications listed above.
The ideal candidate will have experience supervising employees through subordinate supervisors and have experience hiring, developing, and evaluating employees. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS-14/15 grade level in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector or non-governmental organizations.
