This Chemist position starts at a salary of $106,823 (GS-13 step 01), with promotion potential to $164,102 (GS-14 step 10).

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
You must meet the basic requirement(s) for this position. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Individual Occupational Requirements (IORs) for the Chemistry Series, 1320 are as follows:
(A) Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.
OR
(B) Combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE ABOVE BASIC EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE.
Specialized experience is defined as:
You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $106,823) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as: advising on chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) threats; testing, evaluating and developing protocols for CBRE detection and mitigation systems; recommending initiatives related to environmental monitoring, investigative operations, or the protection of persons and infrastructure; providing briefings, trainings and information; serving as a Program/Project Manager; or serving as a technical authority or Contracting Officer’s Representative for procurements or agreements.
You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $126,233) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level performing duties such as: developing initiatives related to environmental monitoring, investigative operations, or the protection of persons and infrastructure; providing briefing trainings or information on chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) serving as a Program/Project Manager; or serving as a technical authority or Contracting Officer’s Representative for procurements or agreements.
