The Assistant Inspector General for Strategic Communications and Programs (AIGSCP) reports directly to the Deputy Inspector General and serves on the senior management team. The incumbent works closely with the Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General in the day-to-day operations of the Office and on special projects as necessary. The incumbent is a trusted advisor and resource, and serves as the critical link in communication between the front office and OIG staff and stakeholders. The AIGSCP serves on senior leadership teams in formulating and recommending policies and procedures and ensuring implementation. In addition, the AIGSCP develops the agenda and content for the SES Onsite and Offsite conferences. The incumbent prepares the Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General for meetings, testimonies, briefings and conferences; tracks priorities; and manages appropriate resources. The AIGSCP consolidates strategic planning efforts leading to the Office's 5-Year Strategic Plan.
The AIGSCP provides strategic guidance and direction to the following direct reports and their teams: Chief Financial Officer, Chief Communications Officer, Director Organizational Development, Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Government and Public Affairs, and Civility, Diversity and Inclusion Program Director.
NOTE: Persons newly appointed to an SES position will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

As a basic requirement for entry into the Senior Executive Service (SES), you must show in your resume evidence of progressively responsible leadership experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability and that is directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under the Technical Qualification and Executive Core Qualifications listed below.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION: Demonstrated executive-level experience in collaborative strategic planning to include: working with executives across organizational entities; responding to external and internal surveys, changing regulations, and hiring authorities; building in attention to civility, diversity and inclusion; analyzing alternative courses of action; communicating results and/or way forward; and implementing decisions to meet mission needs.
