This position is located at the Arizona Training Command in Camp Navajo, Arizona. The purpose of the position is to serve as a Training Center Manager responsible for all operational aspects of the training center. A Consolidated Training Center (CTC) is designed to support individual and collective training up to battalion level. A CTC includes individual through collective ranges, cantonment facilities and maneuver areas for company force on force training. A Maneuver Training Center (MTC-L) is designed to support individual and collective training for battalion and higher units. It has sufficient ranges and training land to support collective live fire proficiency, combined arms live fire exercises, and annual battalion training
evaluations. Full-time support (AGR/Military Technician) and Facility Installation Support Plan (FISP) support for facilities meeting criteria of NG Pam 415-12 are authorized. These training sites are authorized Range and Training Land Program (RTLP) and Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) funds. Performance of training center support functions are directed through subordinate supervisors, a staff of National Guard (NG) technicians, Active Guard Reserves (AGR), full-time and seasonal state employees; and attached fulltime training duty NG, reserve or active military augmentees. This position is also appropriate for Maneuver Garrison Training Center commanders whose organizations are not extensive enough to meet the requirements to be placed on PD #70596000 established for large MTC-H/MTC-L organizations and have a base level of GS-9. This is a supervisory position that has as its paramount requirement, knowledge, experience, and technical supervision of administrative, clerical, scientific, artistic, or technical work not related to trades, craft, or manual-labor work.

Military Grades: CPT/O3 - LTC/O5 (less than two years time in grade)
Compatible Military Assignments: Possess an Army Branch
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

4. Knowledge to direct compliance of regulations, procedures and operating instructions tailored to the specific needs of the training center and addresses such functions as logistics and facilities management, range operations, administrative requirements, etc.
5. Skilled to ensure compliance with all environmental and natural resource regulations established by Federal, state, and local agencies.
