Duties and Responsibilities:
As the office Administrative Professional:
Primarily concerned with providing and securing the resources or services needed to run the organization. The work involves direct assistance in the supervisor who has the primary responsibility for the direction of the organization established to accomplish the mission. As the office Administrative Professional responsible for examining current office practices and policies and recommends improvements. Keeps staff current on procedural changes. Interprets new or modified administrative directives and disseminates information. Provides advice and assistance on all issues pertaining to administrative programs. Coordinates and composes standard operating procedures in conformance with ISO-9000. Ensures travel orders and associated travel documents are prepared accurately and comply with regulations. Analyzes needs and prepares requests for supplies and equipment. Coordinated with Human Resources to obtain guidance on staffing needs, and other offices on logistics, and property management for the office. Assists in determining budget requirements using basic budget and financial principles and techniques. Manages the office Government Vehicle Program. Provides administrative support for the office OSHA programs.
Work is performed under the direct supervision and is covered by established guidelines.
Contacts are with management and staff employees within the Flight Standards office to coordinate work assignments. Periodically interfaces with other lines-of-business and external stakeholders to coordinate activities, or complete work assignments.
Performs additional duties as they are assigned.
To qualify for this position at the FV-F (FG/GS 5-9), you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three years of progressively responsible general experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, recognize solutions, plan and organize work and convey information, with at least one year equivalent to the FG/GS-4 level. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as the work experience provides evidence of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position.
