This position is located in the Programs, Offices, Centers Oversight Directorate (POCO) in the EPA OIG, Office of Special Review and Evaluation. OSRE specializes in conducting evaluations assignments designed to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and economy or programs and operations of the EPA and the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigations Board, jointly referred to as the agency. POCO focuses on the oversight of programs, offices, and centers, evaluating whether and how they are effectively and efficiently meeting legal, regulatory, congressional and public requirements and expectations.

This is a Public Trust Position. Employment in this position requires a background investigation. Upon appointment, you will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450. You will need to provide the information annually.
Depending on your status, this position may require serving a 1-year supervisory or managerial probationary period.
After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Applicant must possess one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of GS-14 or equivalent band level in the Federal Service.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Supervising multiple teams in the design, scope and approach to evaluation and/or audit assignments;
2) Conducting complex program evaluations and/or audits of programs;
3) Using advanced analytical and evaluative methods to identify areas of improvements in economy, efficiency, effectiveness, that can be made in agency statutes, regulations, guidance, policies, procedures, or practices; and
4) Writing clear and concise communications, such as policies, reports, and memoranda for different audience levels.
