WHAT DOES A SENIOR MANAGER DO? As a Senior Manager, generally a manager of managers, you will be responsible for the overall effective operation of a program. You will use your leadership skills and management techniques in the administration, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluation of activities to support accomplishments in the operation. In this role, you will also be responsible for preparation of annual work plans, semiannual and quarterly work schedules, accession schedules for staffing, production output projections, and other plans and controls for maintaining an efficient program. As a Senior Manager you will direct one of many agency wide efforts to deliver or further support the agency's mission and priorities, and will often times be involved in initiatives with extensive and substantial impact on the Nations taxpayers.
In this specific Senior Manager position, you will serve as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC), under the guidance of the Special Agent in Charge (SAC). In coordination with the SAC, you will be responsible for planning, staffing, coordinating, controlling, and reviewing the work of subordinate Supervisory Special Agents and Special Agents engaged in the conduct of investigations of varying levels of difficulty and complexity.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS (SENIOR MANAGER): You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower level within the pay band or GS grade in the normal line of progression in the Federal service. Specialized experience would include 1 year of substantive supervisory or program management experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent level manager or comparable management or leadership experiences in Criminal Investigations. In addition to the above, to be qualified for this specific position, your experience must be sufficient to demonstrate: Thorough knowledge of Criminal Investigation mission, operations, and organization; Understanding of law enforcement, technology and personnel issues; In-depth knowledge of the operations, programs, and policies, as well as, the Criminal Investigation’s Strategy Program Plan and Annual Business Plans impact on field operations; In-depth knowledge of investigative policies, prescribed investigative procedures and techniques of the Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department, and the criminal enforcement and prosecution policies of the Justice Department; Ability to apply that knowledge in developing criminal investigative programs for field implementation and for identifying types of violations and trends in those violations in order to make changes in investigative programs; and Authoritative and comprehensive knowledge of the rules of evidence, the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, and relevant Constitutional, statutory, and case law.
