Located at the Joint Force Headquarter Wyoming Army National Guard (JFHQ-WY ARNG), the primary purpose of this position is to provide preventive, remedial, and support services aimed at improving and sustaining the psychological health of National Guard (NG) military members and their families. As part of the Office of the State Surgeon the incumbent exercises technical oversight, plans, coordinates, monitors and provides access to a full range of professional services for the eligible populations served. Duties focus on outreach, education and prevention, needs-based and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, short-term problem resolution, and provision of or referral to evidenced-based interventions. Responsibilities include providing: primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention programs, specialty training for NG health care professionals and other personnel on issues related to the psychological health of Guardsmen and their families, and multi-level community organization, collaboration, and enhancement.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. Citizenship Required.
Must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
Employees are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND NOTES:
1. Possess a current, unrestricted State license to practice clinical counseling work independently.
2. Must have 24 months of experience in clinical counseling work assignments.
3. Completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
4. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
5. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
6. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
