The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is the public health regulatory agency responsible for ensuring the safety of meat, poultry and processed eggs.
This position located in the Office of the Administrator (OA), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Information Security Center (ISC). OCIO provides information technology (IT) planning, design, application development, systems administration, telecommunications, information assurance/security, information management, and IT customer support services for FSIS.
The ISC is responsible for all Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities across the FSIS enterprise architecture to ensure FSIS systems are secure for mission critical operations. ISC also has oversight of the FSIS IT Asset Management Program to ensure all software, hardware, and digital devices are traceable and secure when connecting to FSIS systems and the network.
The work schedule is full-time, M-F. The majority of the work is performed in a normal office setting. The work is mostly sedentary; however, some walking, bending, lifting is required to perform some tasks.
OCIO supports thousands of field and headquarter employees and customers around the clock, 7-days/week. Employees must participate in an on-call rotation.
