The Office of the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP) was established at the Department of the Treasury under the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. Its mission is to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse in the more than $442B appropriated by Congress through the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act and $2B appropriated through the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016. SIGTARP is a temporary agency and it is anticipated that the organization will be in in existence until at least 2024. We are looking for people to join our team as we take on our responsibility to oversee this historic program and its participants.
This position serves as the Deputy Special Inspector General (DSIG) for Audit. As such, the incumbent is responsible for planning and supervising the performance of audit activities relating to the programs and operations under the jurisdiction of SIGTARP.
As a Deputy Special Inspector General for Audit, you will:
The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. SIGTARP has the authority to appoint highly qualified re-employed annuitants with a salary offset (reduction) waiver. Appointments may be permanent or temporary, not to exceed one year, which may be extended yearly. All re-employed annuitants serve at the will of the agency head and appointments do not confer tenure.

TQ 1: Demonstrated executive level experience leading and directing a multi-disciplinary team to develop and recommend solutions for a wide range of issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of high-profile programs, including operations and internal programs.
TQ 2: Demonstrated knowledge of Inspector General programs, operations, and systems to sufficiently plan and conduct major program reviews, audits and evaluations that provide recommendations to streamline operations; improve service and productivity; reduce program vulnerabilities to fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement; and ensure program compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
