The National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (NCPTSD) is currently recruiting for a full time permanent GS-14 Psychologist-Deputy Director for the Dissemination and Training division located in Menlo Park, CA. This position is part of a joint recruitment effort with Stanford University, the selected candidate will be considered for a Stanford affiliation.

Responsible, with the Director, for all components of Division functioning including its strategic and long-range planning,
programmatic design, interpretation and implementation of the Division priorities within the NCPTSD and Congressional
mandates, delineation of administrative, research and clinical structures and all activities of the Division's staff.
With the Associate Director of Operations and in conjunction with the Director, manages administrative and programmatic resources including a
recurring budget of approximately 8 million dollars ($4 million in core Center funding and $4 million for VACO special
projects).
Develops short- and long-range Division strategy, goals, and plans, and develops and implements policies and procedures to
ensure goal attainment.
Directly or indirectly supervises 40 to 45 employees, including 3 above full performance and 17 to 20 full performance doctoral-level principal investigators and team leads, research staff, contractor workers, and trainees working under the direction of the principal
investigators and team leads.
Ensures implementation of, and oversees all Division scientific research, analytical, educational, and programmatic activities
to maximize Veterans' functioning and promote their recovery from PTSD. Integrates and shapes the activities of Division
principal investigators and team leads, who themselves exercise wide latitude in developing and executing novel research,
education, and implementation initiatives to advance PTSD care.
Applies scientific and administrative knowledge in identification, analysis, and resolution of issues pertaining to the quality
of PTSD or trauma-related care.
Serves as an NCPTSD liaison to a variety of other offices in VA, throughout VHA and VBA, and promotes collaborations
between NCPTSD and those other offices.
Serves as a press point of contact for stories related to PTSD and trauma-related mental health care.
Assesses and supports Division-wide adoption of research and education priorities.
Ensures all Division research is conducted as stipulated in approved protocols, is conducted in a timely manner, and follows
established VHA ethical and procedural guidelines.
Maintains an active program of scholarly research through obtaining grants and publishing peer-review articles, chapters, and
books; conducts research on implementation, technology, training, or other PTSD-related topics.
Presents research results at VHA and national scientific meetings.
Fosters research collaborations with other National Center for PTSD Divisions and with other organizations and academic
departments.
Provides expert guidance, consultation, and leadership in developing methodologies to analyze and evaluate both PTSD
research and education/implementation activities related to trauma and PTSD, technologies, and implementation science.
Makes educational presentations about trauma and PTSD at national meetings for VA, other federal and non-federal
agencies, universities, and professional societies.
Work Schedule: Monday though Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
