The Endoscopy Recovery Room nurse provides preoperative and Phase II post recovery care to patients who have received anesthesia from moderate sedation to general sedation. Recovery staff prepares patient and family for discharge to home or other extended facility. The Endoscopy recovery room staff will provide the following scope of care:
- Pre-Op Phone calls
- Post-Op phone calls
- Assessment and management of patient during patient stay within Recovery room
- Airway management
- Management of post-operative pain
- Post-Anesthesia care with body systems review
- Patient and family education
- Recovery of patients who received conscious sedation, general anesthesia and MAC
The Endoscopy recovery room staff works collaboratively with the Providers implementing the plan of care for patients requiring a procedure. The care is multidisciplinary, including collaboration with other services including community resources as needed.
Work Schedule: Varied, Monday - Friday, 930am to 6pm

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move over 45 pounds.
Flouroscopy is utilized in the Endoscopy Unit. The incumbent will be responsible to comply with all aspects of the fluoroscopy safety program. Must complete annual Employee Health requirements; such as annual TB screening or testing, as a condition of employment. Incumbent may be exposed, on a short term basis to fumes, dust and other debris.
