You are responsible for managing various functional areas of the Division, which include audit planning to maximize audit coverage of the nationwide program to ensure full compliance with the federal law's abandoned mine reclamation fee requirements.
You are responsible for resource management to optimize the use of funds, by formulating and executing a cost-effective budget to support programs and policies.
You will develop strategies and specific action plans to facilitate compliance with Title V by evaluating data to identify areas with a greater risk of non-compliance.
You will meet with internal and external parties to coordinate efforts to promote cooperative federalism.
You are responsible for identifying training needs and providing training in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) to support professional development of staff.

The salary range for London, KY and Nashville, TN, is $107,807 to $140,146. The salary range for Pittsburgh, PA, is $111,015 to $144,316.

Physical Demands: The work is mainly sedentary. The work does require some physical activities that may consist of extensive walking and steep climbing in and around coal mines where mining and production records may be maintained. Travel to meetings nationwide may be required to review audit operations and conduct/participate in program-related discussions. The incumbent must be able to operate a government vehicle, travel via common carrier, and carry at least 25 pounds for extensive periods.
Work Environment: The work is predominately performed in an office environment. However, there is some travel and field work. This travel may occur during periods of varying weather conditions, and often under dusty or muddy conditions. Field work may involve exposure areas where there are explosives, large and heavy earthmoving equipment, and other coal mining equipment. During these times, the incumbent must observe safety requirements and/or may be required to use specialized safety equipment and/or wear protective clothing.
