Plans and coordinates the dissemination of information relevant to the organization's programs, objectives and functions through multiple outlets including news media venues, professional societies, advocacy organizations, and other channels.
Develops and writes science-based public health information and materials designed to reach regional and national audiences through media and other outlets.
Assists in the development of communications plans for both individual projects and larger mission-related activities.
Serves as a liaison with Federal agencies and non-Federal organizations that have related programmatic interests.
Coordinates, supports, maintains and updates on strategies and tactics to enhance communications with key internal and external audiences regarding new and ongoing public health initiatives.
Provides technical support on communication programs to implement targets partnerships and collaborations.
Consults with public health professionals and other program officials to stay abreast of current public health issues in assigned topic areas.
Provides technical and administrative support in translating scientific and public health findings for interested non-scientists such as the policymakers, and the lay public.
Provides logistical, administrative and technical support in determining the most effective media to use in communicating with intended audiences, the kind of information various groups want or need, etc.
