This is a term position that is limited to two years, with the possibility for renewal for additional two years.
This position is located in the Advice Branch, Office of Counsel to the Inspector General (OCIG), Office of Inspector General (OIG), U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Washington, D.C. The incumbent General Attorney will report to the Deputy Branch Chief with authority over the Advice Branch's Operations Team. The incumbent will be responsible for advising the OIG with respect to matters involving: 1) whistleblower retaliation and other administrative investigations; 2) whistleblower protections; and 3) law enforcement inquiries, including criminal warnings, Bivens, Touhy and other law enforcement-related advice to support the OIG's Office of Investigations and other work units. The incumbent will serve as the primary advisor to the OIG's Office of Investigations on whistleblower matters and administrative investigations, will advise OIG staff on other matters relating to whistleblower and law enforcement inquiries, as appropriate, and will perform other duties, as assigned.
