Permanent (Career-Seasonal): This position issubject to release and recall procedures. Position includes all the benefits of permanent employment, but does not provide employment on a year-round basis. Physical Demands: Work requires considerable walking, standing, moderate physical effort necessary to turn valves and controls and to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and any heavier items with assistance of other workers or with lifting devices.
Working Conditions: Work is usually performed indoors and outside for short periods of time, where the incumbent is subject to varying weather conditions. Exposure to constant noise, rotating machinery, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil and fumes in the work area and is subject to have to follow prescribed safety practices and appropriate safety face shields, gloves, hard-toe shoes, respirators and protective clothing/equipment to avoid access to infections, diseases while cleaning equipment, the presence of gases such as methane, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide.

Area Information: Located at Canyon Village and Grant Village in the Interior of Yellowstone National Park at an elevation of 8000 feet. Summer services include a gas station, restaurants and stores. No winter services. Recreational opportunities include hiking, fishing, biking, sightseeing and skiing. Government housing may be available. Over-snow travel by snowmobile is required in winter as personal vehicles are kept at Mammoth, or at park entrances.
