(1) Arkansas Army National Guard (AR ARNG) Technicians; (2) All members of the AR ARNG/ANG, (3) Individuals who are not members of the National Guard but who are eligible to acquire membership in an available and compatible military grade for excepted technician positions. (Upon selection, must be a member of the Army National Guard).
Summary of duties: Performs duties of Human Resources functions in an education office and Human Resources support activity. Must become familiar with and be able to work the different personnel functions at Deputy Chief of Staff Personnel Education (DCSPER-ED). Have knowledge of Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS) to process all incentives transactions. Ensure all Non-Prior Service (NPS), Prior Service (PS), Reenlistment/Extension (REB) and officer Accession (OAB) bonuses are processed in a timely manner. Regularly brief Strength Maintenance, Major Army Command (MACOM), and Unit level personnel on the latest incentives. Screen personnel data submitted by units for correctness and inputs this information into the Standard Installation Division Personnel Reporting System (SIDPERS) database. Receive electronic enlistment data from Electronic Transactions (E-Trans) system, verifies the accuracy of the data and updates the database with this data. Reviews enlistment documents, verifies the data, and transmits the information into iPERMS System. Prepare various types of personnel memorandums as required. Serves as an advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) program. Interprets policy and provides procedural guidance to commanders, supervisors, staff members and individual military members. Provides training to supervisors and guidance and assistance to military members on program for which assigned. Conducts and/or participates in Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP), and unit mobilizations and de-mobilizations. Reviews, evaluates, and interprets regulatory guidance, policies, and procedures applicable to military personnel programs and provides guidance to all users. Publishes guidance to enhance and simplify completion and submission of personnel actions. Conducts staff visits and trains personnel within the organization on all programs for which responsible. Researches, prepares response, and maintains action file. As required, forwards response for review and/or response for the MILPO Director and/or State Adjutant General. Estimates and projects future travel and funding requirements and submits request to DCSPER Officer. Performs other duties as assigned.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Military Grade Requirement: Enlisted, SGT/ E5 - SFC/E7
Compatible Military Assignment: Selectee must be a member of the Arkansas Army National Guard and be assigned to a compatible military position in a unit supported by DCSPER in Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 01A, 42A, 42B, 42H. Must become compatible within 12 months of appointment.
Upon selection for this position, individual must possess or initiate a Secret background investigation. A favorable determination based upon investigative results is mandatory for this position. Failure to meet these requirements will result in termination of employment. A pre-placement physical is required if not already current. Upon selection, must complete mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training at the Professional Education Center (PEC) within six months of assignment (if applicable, training will be coordinated by the supervisor). Individual must meet all military requirements of the position without creating a grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO).
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
