The U.S. Army War College seeks a postdoctoral fellow to support the USAWC, the Army Staff, and others, with focused historical analyses to inform decision-making processes and outcomes. The USAWC is the U.S. Army's senior institution for professional military education. It educates the senior echelon of U.S. military officers of all services, U.S. government civilians, and military officers from up to 80 foreign countries yearly. The USAWC also conducts independent strategic analysis to develop recommendations for senior Army, Department of Defense, and other National Security leaders and decision-makers addressing a broad range of key national security issues.
The US Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) at the USAWC seeks a postdoctoral fellow to provide historical analysis and context for senior Defense officials on matters of contemporary importance. Postdoctoral fellows at USAHEC conduct research to support the USAWC, Army staff, field Army, and joint and interagency staffs with focused historical analyses to inform policy and doctrine decisions. This fellowship is a civilian position at the USAWC as provided under Title 10, United States Code.
Fellowships provide up to one year of support for individuals to conduct research after attainment of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Duration of the fellowships is 9 to 12 months, beginning no earlier than 31 Dec 2019.
