Grade 12: You must possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position Specialized experience is defined as managing the physical security and law enforcement program for Smithsonian facilities/museums, planning security/law enforcement programs and policy, implementing and overseeing organizational performance measurements and program evaluation, and providing quality management through reports and briefings.
Grade 13: You must possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position Specialized experience is defined as managing the physical security and law enforcement program for Smithsonian facilities/museums, planning security/law enforcement programs and policy, implementing and overseeing organizational performance measurements and program evaluation, providing quality management through reports and briefings, and managing security programs relating to acquisition, installation, inspection and repair of security devices.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
DRUG TESTING: The position(s) which may be filled from this vacancy announcement have been identified as Testing Designated Positions under the Drug-Free Workplace Program.
