The position is located in the Public Buildings Service (PBS), Service Center Division. As an advanced entry-level trainee, you will assist the Building Manager who provides occupants of Federal Government buildings and privately leased space with safe, secure, clean, and sustainable facilities in which to conduct agency business. You will also interact with building tenants and client representatives on a recurring basis to assess their facility and facility related needs.

The GS-7 salary range starts at $42,053.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

A: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE - You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is administrative or technical experience that provided a fundamental knowledge of programs, policies, or procedures related to the operation and maintenance of commercial buildings (or equivalent non-housing, high rise buildings). Examples of such experience includes: communicating with a variety of individuals to gather information, analyze, and provide recommendations regarding building operations, automated building systems, building equipment or building services; entering, tracking, and reconciling budgetary or financial data in a computerized system for facilities operations; or providing administrative or technical support for commercial building preventative maintenance programs. The GS-9 salary range starts at $51,440.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience assisting in the management of a commercial office building (or equivalent non-housing
high rise building) consisting of building mechanical system (i.e., heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), alarm systems, elevators, etc). This experience typically
includes:
● Coordinating alteration and renovation projects;
● Gathering information to assess the level of customer satisfaction, i.e., surveys, interviews with tenant contacts, focus groups;
● Gathering data to assist with the development of operating budgets;
● Inspecting of contractor performance.
