This position is located in the Primary Care Service, George E Whalen VA Medical Center, Salt Lake City, UT. The V-Impact Physician Assistant position is a clinical position that is accountable to the George E Whalen V-Impact Hub Director, providing services to the Hub as well as 71 remote sites in VISN 19. The Physician Assistant provides a full range of primary care services emphasizing on quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the VA mission. The incumbent understands the Section priorities and objectives and facilitates accomplishment of the objectives in collaboration with the V-Impact Business Clinic Manager and the V-Impact Service Chief. The incumbent understands the Section priorities and objectives and facilitates accomplishment of the objectives in collaboration with the V-Impact Service Chief. In addition to clinical matters, the Physician Assistant participates in the education, training, and research missions of the V-Impact Service. Some weekend, early and/or late shifts are required
The position includes clinical, administrative, education, and in some cases, research duties. The approximate time assigned in each of the areas (as of the date of this functional statement) is listed below. This may change over time depending on the needs of the Primary Care Service, and the Medical Center. The time allotment is consistent with information contained in the physician mapping tool that is used to follow physician duties and productivity. The specific allocation within each area (e.g. number of clinics per week, number of months attend on inpatient wards, number of research duties.) is found in the mapping tool. These allocations are approximate, and may vary depending on individual job duties, and the evolving needs of the health care system.
Work Schedule: Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 0700-7:00pm with varying shifts
