The primary duties for this position are to work as a Journeyman Air Conditioning mechanic, to include:Maintaining HVAC systems and scheduling routine inspections of HVAC equipment, to include system controls Operating chiller systems during emergencies, repairing pumps, motor controls, and replacing component parts and individual control components.Troubleshooting and repairing complicated variable frequency drives (VFD)Checking, monitoring, and evaluating the proper air distribution systems installing and maintaining pneumatic digital and electric control systems Maintaining records of air balance reports and maintain proper stock of materials and parts Responsible for the ongoing repair activities, troubleshooting, and Preventive Maintenance Program.Installs, maintains, repairs and or modifies pneumatic, digital and electric controls systems.The position requires the knowledge and skills of a journeyman Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic, with a specialty in and responsibility for pneumatic, electric and digital control systems.
CERTIFICATION: MUST have a valid EPA 608 Universal Certification.PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequently will required kneeling, crouching, stooping, bending, climbing ladders, reaching in inaccessible areas and standing for extended periods, light lifting, usually not exceeding 50 lbsWORKING CONDITIONS: Subjected to high temperatures, constant noise, rotating machinery, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil and fumes, cuts and abrasions from the use of tools and equipment, and burns from acids, caustics. Works on catwalks and ladders. Continually exposed to the potential for burns, electrical shocks, cuts, strains, bruises and chemical irritations.
