- Serves as the Environmental Management System Coordinator
- Develops policies, guidance for the protection of air, water, soil and ground water.
- Interpret federal, state and regulations for the protection of air, water, soil and ground water.
- Utilize audits to develop corrective implementation plans for improvement in a multitude of programs.

- This position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires you to obtain or maintain a Lead Based Paint and Asbestos certification with EPA in accordance with Lead Base Paint regulations and Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) within three months of employment.
- This position requires you to complete Clean Air Act CAA Method 9 Training within six months of employment and annual re-certification.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) clearance.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08), Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical and annual physical thereafter.

***This is a TERM position. It is a time limited position and may be extended up to a maximum of six years. This position may be converted to a permanent. career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparation and maintenance of HAZMAT/HAZWASTE and solid waste plans and programs. Reviews and analyzes Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) and Hazardous Waste Minimization (HAZMIN) programs. Performs support work in the review and development of any future plans, programs, and regulations for HAZMAT, Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE), solid waste issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: environmental engineers; environmental science or a science-related field, such as biology, chemistry, physics, geosciences, or engineering, natural sciences; natural resources management;. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
