The incumbent will work collaboratively on a Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Team as well as with other disciplines within the Mental Health Service Line and within the VA Medical Center. The incumbent will be accountable for the delivery of quality care including the assessment, diagnosis and prescribing services for the management of Veterans with acute and chronic mental illnesses in the outpatient setting. In the clinical setting, the incumbent will be responsible for serving a critical role in the outpatient continuity of care. S/He will independently manage a caseload of Mental Health patients within the Mental Health Clinic. S/He will participate in the treatment of Veterans in an outpatient treatment settings, provide ongoing evaluation and diagnosis, and assess psychological functioning, substance abuse, and psychosocial well-being, and treatment of Veterans. A primary function in this role includes providing assessment and diagnosis to individuals with mental illness and prescribing psychiatric medications and treatment.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Authorized. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and apply for EDPR within four (4) month of appointment. Final award amount and program start date is determined after review of complete EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education loan Payment Service office.
