Supervisory Federal Police Officer performing law enforcement duties in an area of multiple jurisdictions. Primary responsibility of the position is to ensure compliance with and enforce Federal ordinances, rules and regulations as they pertain to law enforcement work and the supervision of others engaged in such duties. Possesses arrest authority and is required to carry a firearm in the performance of duties. The Incumbent must successfully complete an annual physical and psychological examination and successfully complete the VA Police Officer Standardized Training Course and other mandatory training requirements to remain in this position. The incumbent is technically and administratively responsible for the law enforcement operations of the service. Assures reasonable equity among subordinate units of performance standards and rating techniques developed by subordinate supervisors. Makes decisions on work problems by subordinate supervisors; evaluates subordinate supervisors and serves as the reviewing official on evaluations of subordinate non-supervisors and serves as the reviewing official on evaluations of subordinate posteriorly employees rated by subordinate supervisors. Make recommendations for selection for subordinate supervisory and nonsupervisory positions. Finds and obtains approval from higher level supervisors to implement ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building or improve business practices. Responsible for dealing with officials in other organizations and/or provides advice to management officials in higher grades. Conducts supervisory operational reviews of law enforcement activities to ensure they are maintaining training standards and to ensure all required and other approved equipment is issued and maintained properly. Ensure implementation of the provisions of controlling laws, regulations and policies as they pertain to law enforcement requirements. Certifies time and attendance reports and approves overtime as necessary to meet the mission. Maintains controls on all overtime worked in the unit.
