About the Position: This position is at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH), Fort Belvoir, VA, in the Directorate for Nursing, Maternal Child Neonatal Level II Unit. The Special Care Nursery (SCN) is staff with an interdisciplinary group of providers that allows babies born as early as 32 weeks gestation to be treated at FBCH. Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, or stooping, ability to lift, push, or pull objects greater
than 50 lbs and rotating shift work are required.

The unit is committed to providing comprehensive family-centered care to all beneficiaries and their family members. The position requires that the selected candidate be available to perform rotating shift work. The selected applicant for this position can expect to perform a variety of SCN RN duties to include, but not limited to: attendance at high risk deliveries, providing neonatal resuscitation as needed, management of peripheral and umbilical IV lines, administration medications, maintenance of CPAP, and nasal/oral gastric tubes for specialized feedings. Duties may also include assessment and care of premature and ill infants.
