The mission of BOEM is to manage ocean energy and mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) in an environmentally sound and safe manner and to timely collect, verify, and distribute mineral revenues from Federal lands. The Office of Renewable Energy Programs (OREP) oversees the development and implementation of the OCS renewable energy leasing and operations programs, and provides policy direction, coordination and oversight for the OCS renewable energy-related uses program.
The OREP’s Environment Branch for Renewable Energy (ERBE) is responsible for conducting environmental reviews for Atlantic OCS renewable energy competitive and noncompetitive leasing processes and post-lease operational activities in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). In addition, EBRE develops, coordinates, reviews, and manages a long-term OCS environmental studies program related to renewable energy activities on the Atlantic OCS. The incumbent serves in OREP’s EBRE, located in Sterling, Virginia, as a senior coordinator of environmental reviews mandated under NEPA for renewable energy activities on the Atlantic OCS.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
GS-14:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one FULL year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience as a senior or lead coordinator of environmental impact statements or complex environmental assessments under NEPA for coastal and/or ocean activities, including directing subject matter experts in multiple disciplines and conducting critical reviews of analyses.
