The duties of the intern are designated according to the division/office to which the intern is assigned:
Corporate University (CU): Interns assigned to Corporate University may assist in scheduling and planning meetings, managing course logistics, and operating office equipment (e.g., photocopier, fax, and scanner). Duties also include responding to course-related questions by contacting appropriate sources, performing data entry for various systems, supporting classroom technology and information technology systems, providing customer service, testing and troubleshooting, running reports, and conducting research projects. (Located in Arlington, VA)
Division of Administration (DOA):interns may be assigned to one of the following areas: Acquisition Services Branch, Management Services Branch, Office of the Director or Human Resources Branch and will perform various clerical tasks which involve providing support on division wide work products relating to, but not limited to, staffing; position management; training; records management; space and equipment management; web work and information security. The incumbent will assist in preparing reports, memoranda, and emails that may include matters of a sensitive nature. Other tasks may include compiling data; data entry into databases and spreadsheets; performing research on various topics/issues; responding to staff requests. (Located in Arlington, VA)
Division of Depositor & Consumer Protection (DCP): Interns assigned will perform clerical duties such as filing, typing and copying. Other duties assigned included are: data entry, generating routine reports, handling route requests and dissemination of information to the appropriate staff members in the office. (Located in Washington, DC)
Division of Insurance & Research (DIR): Interns will manage and maintain executives’ schedules and appointments, prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents. Make travel arrangements and prepare travel authorizations and vouchers. Interns will perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering telephones, data entry, and spreadsheet input.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Registration with the Selective Service.
Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure may be required.
Low Risk Position - National Agency Check Investigation (NACI) required.

Applicant(s) must be able to work at least a part-time work schedule during the academic year.
To qualify for this program, applicants must: (1) be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree seeking program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis; (2) have a minimum cumulative (overall) GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0; and (3) be in good academic standing.

Education
CG-03: Completion of 1 full academic year of post-high school study.
CG-04: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or successful completion of an associate's degree.
CG-05: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.
Qualifying Experience
CG-03: 6 months of general work experience.
CG-04: 1 year of general work experience.
CG-05: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-04.
Specialized experience for the CG-05 is defined as screening, directing and answering telephone calls; maintaining office files; performing typing and filing duties; performing basic data entry; and generating reports.
Note: One full academic year of undergraduate is 30 semester hours or equivalent. One full academic year of graduate/vocational/trades/technical/high school education is the number of credit hours determined by the college/university/school. A certificate program must be a 1 year academic program if attending at a full-time status.
If selected, you may be required to serve a trial period.
To be eligible for conversion to the competitive service, you must complete 640 hours of work experience (up to 320 hours may be waived based on successful performance in the position and a 3.45 overall GPA); meet the OPM qualification standards for the target position; and meet the requirements of the FDIC Pathways Agreement.
